I have lots of reasons. 1) I've been wanting to join the Indie-Web for a long time; people on Neocities are so creative, and I was inspired. Plus, Ilm super nostalgic and reflect on my childhood memories (even though it wasn't that long ago)
2) Social Media controlled ME, not the other way around. Instagram was really addicting and I've deleted it now and only use the web browser now to message people/find inspo sometimes. I hate how we were being fed what to think, consume and believe. So I'm taking back the internet as a TOOL for me to harness, rather than be a slave to.
3) I love seeing snippets of people's lives/ creativity/presonalities through these Indie-Websites, and I wanted to share mine! Maybe I could show my work as I train in science too :D
Plus, I love To-Do lists and journalling; they're a way to organise my jumbled brain into tabs. I already have these seperate "webpages" as Word documents anyway, where I blabber away to myself, like a journal. So why not organise it in a creative, personal space? Great hobby! Especially since it's the summer so I have more free time.
As you can probably tell, I find it hard to stick to one thing for a long time (in all aspects of my life) and I jump from interest to interest. (Who knows maybe I'll become a Polymath one day, that's the goal!) So I can track my skills/journey this way instead of doing a whirlwind of randomness.
I thought, it's gunna be too hard to start. I do have some coding experience from school, but never HTML or without instructions. I must admit I used to use AI for my coding work in school. But AI makes me lazy. So I was adamant that this project was 100% no AI, and I'd actually have to use my brain and learn it. It was daunting at first, but following YT tutorials and using online resources has been really helpful. I'm really enjoying the process.
