Some poems or short stories, all written by me
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
I believe there is a poem for every ache or trouble of the soul. Poems soothe and comfort you, and are stories that brought people together since the dawn of humanity. Poetry is important in my culture, like the works of Rumi, Hafez, Sahdi & Mowlana. I really love Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet"; the book and movie rekindled my love for written works.
I found this cool website called "Fridge Poem", it encourages the brain to make connections with words and give inspo for poems. Here are some I made or found:
I feel a storm coming.
The wind is picking up
It chills me to my core
Little bird, how will you fly
With those weight hanging from your tail?
I feel a storm rumbling.
The echoes quake the ground
Leaves are shaken from their branches
Little bird, how will your nest
Just sticks and stones, not break apart?
I feel a storm looming.
The dark clouds smother the sky
They suffocate the light
Little bird, how will you hide
When you hit the cage bars from all sides?
I feel a storm growling.
It claws at rotting roots of trees
Little bird, how will you flee
If your legs are bound to the falling trunk?
I feel a storm roaring.
Lightning streaks the sky with shreaks
Thunder pounds my eardrums, drumming
Little bird, how will you sing
When your voice was drowned out long ago?
I feel a storm drenching.
Rain is pooling at my feet
Fish are swimming on the land
Little bird, how will you cry
If your tears have already flooded rivers?
I feel a storm coming.
I dread its approach
Little bird, you're on your own
It will come.
It will pass.
The grass must be greener on the other side.

When I was a child,
You built me a Sandcastle
You built it tall and strong
The spade dug sure and true
Wet sand filled my bucket with love
Flip it around
Tap three times
Hands together, we lift to reveal
Sandcastle, facing the world
The beam on my face was brighter than the sun's
I was so proud
Of the fortress you built to protect me
But I am a child no more.
The sun's smile turns to a scowl
The castle walls begin to crumble
Down the turrets tumble
"Strong" sand slips through my fingers
As do the sands of time
Nothing left of that strong castle
Nothing left of you
Now it's time for me
To build a new Sandcastle
One that reminds me of you
The spade digs slowly through
With shaking hands
My tears wet the sands
Flip it around
Tap three times
The bucket rolls into the sea
Sandcastle, reflection of me
Stands tall and strong
Empty of your love
It will fall again
Yet we shall meet again
To rebuild our Sandcastle
this was already here lol
But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?
